Fluid flow structures in an evaporating sessile droplet depending on the droplet size and properties of liquid and substrate

We investigate numerically quasi-steady internal flows in an axially symmetrical evaporating sessile droplet depending on the ratio of substrate to fluid thermal conductivities, volatility, contact angle and size. Temperature distributions vortex structures are obtained for droplets 1-hexanol, 1-butanol ethanol. To this purpose, hydrodynamics drop, effects conduction diffusion vapor air have been jointly taken into account. The equations solved by finite element method using ANSYS Fluent. phase diagrams demonstrating number orientation vortices as functions analyzed various values parameters. In particular, influence gravity shape effect size considered. found that highly volatile do not contain a subregion corresponding reversed single vortex, their single-vortex becomes more complex. larger contian subregions regular three vortices. demonstrate how disappears with gradual increase
